Implant Supported Dentures in Gurgaon
Better Than Loose Dentures — But Is It Enough?
Struggling with loose, slipping dentures in Delhi NCR? Implant supported dentures cost in India starts at ₹90,000. But before you decide, read this honest guide. It may save you from making a choice you regret.
Your Dentures Were Fine. Then They Started Moving.
I hear this almost every week in my clinic. A patient from DLF Phase 4, Sushant Lok, or South City comes in and says:
If you are experiencing this, you are not alone. And it helps to understand why this keeps happening:
- Why dentures become loose over time
- Why denture adhesives stop working
- Bad-fitting dentures vs All-on-4 — which way should you go?
This is not a denture quality problem. This is a jaw bone shrinkage problem.
So it slowly melts away (a process called bone resorption). The jaw bone can lose up to 25% of its width in the first year after tooth loss, a figure documented in bone resorption research as far back as 1971.[Ref: Atwood — JADA]
Dentures sit on this bone. As the bone reduces, the denture base no longer fits. Result: loose, painful, embarrassing dentures.
Using denture adhesive every day is a signal your dentures no longer fit your jaw. It is not a loose dentures treatment. It is a warning that the bone has changed beneath them. Read: Why denture adhesive stops working
Why Relining and Adhesives Do Not Fix the Real Problem
Most patients have tried at least one of these before reaching us:
- Denture adhesive (Fixodent, Corega): temporary grip, needs daily use, alters your bite over time
- Relining: adds new base material to fill the gap caused by bone loss in dentures. Works for 1–2 years, then the bone shrinks more
- New dentures: same material, same problem. Fits today, loose in 2 years
These are not loose dentures treatments. They are temporary fixes. None of them stop the bone from shrinking. The only thing that slows bone loss is having a root in the bone, which is exactly what a dental implant does.
What Are Implant Supported Dentures?
Implant supported dentures, also called implant retained dentures or overdentures, are a step ahead of regular dentures. In Gurgaon, this is one of the most asked-about options by patients who are tired of loose dentures but are not yet sure about fixed teeth.
Think of it like press-studs on a jacket. The implants are fixed into the bone. The denture snaps onto them. When you want to clean it, you unclip and remove it. When you wear it, it stays firm.
How the Procedure Works
CBCT 3D Scan
Full bone assessment at our Sector 51 or Sector 74 clinic. No guesswork.
Implant Placement
2 implants (lower jaw) or 4 implants (upper jaw) placed under local anaesthesia.
Healing Period
3–6 months for bone to bond with implant. Existing denture used during this time.
Denture Attachment
Special locator attachments added. Denture now snaps firmly onto implants.
After the procedure, most patients from our Gurgaon clinics say eating and speaking feels noticeably more stable. The fear of dentures slipping reduces. Confidence improves.
What You Will Experience — Honestly
- Chewing improves compared to regular dentures
- Speech becomes clearer — no shifting while talking
- No more daily adhesive
- More confidence in social situations
- You still remove the denture every night for cleaning
- You still clean it outside your mouth
- It still rests on your gum tissue, not entirely on the implants
- Chewing power is better, but not as good as fixed teeth
- Bone resorption slows but does not stop completely
This is the truth most clinics skip. And it matters, because many patients later wish they had known this before choosing this option.
Implant Supported Dentures Cost in India — Transparent Pricing
Prices below are for implant supported dentures in Delhi NCR at Center for Dental Implants & Esthetics, Gurgaon. Cost depends on implant system and number of jaws treated.
In western countries, the gap between implant dentures (USD 3,000–5,000) and full mouth fixed implants (USD 20,000–30,000) is enormous. Here in Gurgaon, that gap is much smaller. Full mouth fixed implants start at ₹3.4 lakh. The difference in life quality is massive. The difference in cost is not. This is why most patients who come to us today plan directly for fixed teeth.
Note: Bone grafting, sinus lift, or additional procedures are charged separately if required. A CBCT scan determines this during consultation.
Fixed vs Removable Dentures: Where Does Implant Overdenture Sit?
Patients often ask: implant overdenture vs All-on-4, what is actually better? This table gives you the complete picture so you can decide with full information, not half-knowledge.
| What You Care About | Regular Dentures | Implant Supported Dentures | Fixed Teeth (All-on-4/6) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stability | Poor — shifts while eating | Moderate — snaps onto implants | Excellent — screwed in permanently |
| Do you remove it at night? | Yes | Yes | No — stays in 24/7 |
| Chewing power | 20–25% of natural teeth | 40–50% of natural teeth | 70–80% of natural teeth |
| Bone preservation | Bone continues shrinking | Slows but does not stop | Stimulates bone — best preservation |
| Feels like natural teeth? | No | Partly — palate still covered | Closest to natural |
| Long-term cost | Low upfront, high repeat | Medium upfront, medium repeat | Higher upfront, lowest repeat |
| Starting cost in Gurgaon | ₹15,000 – ₹50,000 | ₹90,000 – ₹2,50,000 | ₹3.4 Lakh onwards |
If You Are Confused Between These Options
If your only goal is to stop denture movement, implant supported dentures will help.
If your goal is to eat normally and stop thinking about your teeth altogether, you should seriously look at fixed teeth.
Most patients below 65 who visit our Gurgaon clinic choose fixed teeth after understanding the full picture.
The Myth vs Reality
Implant dentures feel like fixed teeth
They are more stable, but still removable. The palate is still covered. It still feels like a denture — just a better one.
Fixed teeth are 5x more expensive in India
Full mouth fixed implants in Gurgaon start at ₹3.4L vs ₹2L for implant dentures — not as big a gap as most expect, especially over 10 years.
2 implants are enough for upper jaw
Upper jaw needs 4 implants minimum due to bone density and forces involved. 2 implants are only for lower jaw overdentures.
Who Should Consider Implant Supported Dentures and Who Should Look Beyond
In my clinical experience, I always tell patients to be honest about what they want from their teeth. Implant supported dentures, also called semi fixed teeth, are a step up from loose dentures but not a permanent teeth replacement the way fixed implants are. Here is a straightforward guide.
✓ Semi Fixed Teeth May Suit You If…
- Budget is a primary constraint right now
- You are 70+ and not keen for longer surgery
- Severe bone loss makes fixed implants complex (we check with CBCT)
- You want improvement over loose dentures without full commitment
- Medical conditions limit longer procedures
→ Permanent Teeth Replacement Is Better If…
- You are under 65 and active
- You eat out regularly or have a social/professional life
- You hate the idea of removing teeth at night
- You want to forget you ever had a tooth problem
- You want the best long-term value for your investment
Patients who come from South City, DLF Cyber City, Sohna Road, and Sector 56–57 areas of Gurgaon often tell me: “I wish someone had told me this before I got dentures 3 years ago.” Many of them now opt for permanent teeth replacement in Delhi NCR and say it changed their quality of life. If you are still in the decision phase, read our full mouth implants guide before you decide.
Why Many Patients Eventually Move to Fixed Teeth
This is the most common patient journey we see at our Gurgaon clinics:
Bone loss after tooth removal. Dentures stop fitting.
Better stability. But still removable. Still limited.
“I want to eat normally. I don’t want to remove them.”
All-on-4 or All-on-6. Permanent. Natural-feeling.
The problem is, when patients go through this journey one step at a time, they end up spending more in total. And if you wait too long, bone loss may make fixed implants harder or require additional bone grafting.
Many patients in Gurgaon skip implant dentures completely and go directly for fixed teeth, because the cost difference is often just ₹1–1.5 lakh. But the comfort difference is life-changing. The bone savings, the food freedom. None of that comes with a removable solution.
For patients with good bone, we often offer same day teeth (also called teeth in a day) where implants and a temporary fixed bridge are placed in one visit. Not every case qualifies, but it is worth discussing at consultation. See All-on-4 cost in Delhi NCR →
How We Plan Every Implant Case at Center for Dental Implants & Esthetics, Gurgaon
Dr. Jyoti Singh — BDS, MDS (Prosthodontics)
Diplomate WCOI (Japan Region) | Nobel Biocare Trained | Ex-Senior Resident, MAIDS Delhi
- 10,000+ dental implants placed across 17+ years of practice
- Founder, Center for Dental Implants & Esthetics, with clinics in Sector 51 and Sector 74, Gurgaon
- Specialises in full mouth rehabilitation, not single implants in isolation
- Board certified by American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID)
- Strong focus on prosthodontics: the function of teeth, not just the implant
I started Center for Dental Implants & Esthetics because I kept seeing patients come to me after failed implants done elsewhere — rushed cases, no CBCT, wrong system. I wanted to build a place where that simply does not happen.
Our Strict Protocol — Every Patient
- CBCT 3D Scan mandatory: We never plan implants on a 2D X-ray. Bone width, height, nerve position are all checked before surgery
- Mandatory blood tests: Sugar, clotting, bone health markers. Especially important in diabetic patients
- US FDA-approved implant systems only: Israeli (Adin/MIS), Korean (Osstem), Nobel Biocare, Straumann. No unregistered systems
- Honest treatment planning: We tell every patient if implant dentures will serve them well or if fixed teeth is the better option for their bone and lifestyle. We do not recommend what is easier for us. We recommend what is right for you.
- Two clinic locations in Gurgaon: Convenient for patients from Sohna Road, Golf Course Road, Dwarka Expressway, MG Road, and surrounding areas
“Doctor, I already spent on dentures and then implant dentures. I wish someone had told me to go for fixed teeth earlier.”

Frequently Asked Questions
Real questions from patients at our Gurgaon clinics, answered directly.
The implant surgery is done under local anaesthesia. You feel pressure but no pain. After the procedure, there is mild soreness for 3–5 days, manageable with basic pain relief. Most of our patients from Gurgaon are back to desk work the next day. The denture attachment step (done after healing) is completely painless.
For the lower jaw: 2 implants are sufficient to support an overdenture. For the upper jaw: a minimum of 4 implants is needed. This is because upper jaw bone is less dense than lower jaw, and the upper denture covers the palate. More implants are needed for adequate support and stability.
At Center for Dental Implants & Esthetics, Gurgaon, costs start at ₹90,000 for lower jaw (Israeli implants) and ₹1,20,000 for upper jaw. Both jaws together start at ₹2,00,000 with Israeli implants and ₹2,50,000 with Korean implants. Each package includes the implants, the Dentcare acrylic denture, and snap-on attachments. For a complete breakdown, visit our implant cost page.
Yes, meaningfully better in stability and confidence. They do not shift while eating or talking. You do not need adhesive. Speech improves. But they are still removable and still have limitations compared to fixed teeth. If you are comparing options, also look at All-on-4 fixed teeth before deciding.
Chewing improves significantly. Most soft to medium foods become comfortable. However, very hard foods like raw carrots, hard nuts, or chewing sugarcane are still not recommended. Chewing power is approximately 40–50% of natural teeth. For near-normal eating, fixed teeth (All-on-4 or All-on-6) give better results at 70–80% of natural chewing force.
The implants themselves can last 15–20+ years with good oral hygiene. The denture base typically needs replacement every 5–8 years as bone continues to change. The snap-on attachments (locators) need replacement every 1–2 years with regular use. Overall, the system is more durable than regular dentures but requires periodic maintenance.
Diabetes is not a disqualifier. However, blood sugar must be well-controlled (HbA1c below 8 is our general guideline). We do mandatory blood tests before every implant surgery. Diabetic patients have a slightly higher risk of delayed healing, which we account for in our treatment timeline. In my clinical experience, well-managed diabetic patients do very well with implants.
This is the most important question. The answer depends on your bone condition, your lifestyle, and budget. In Gurgaon, the cost gap between the two is much smaller than most expect. If you are below 65, socially active, and want permanent teeth, fixed teeth is almost always the better long-term value. If budget is a concern right now or you have significant health conditions, implant dentures are a good intermediate step. The only honest way to answer this is a CBCT-based consultation. See both options with exact numbers before deciding.
The terms are often used interchangeably. Technically: implant-retained dentures rely mainly on implants for retention (grip). Implant-supported dentures rely on implants for both retention and support (load-bearing). In practice, both involve a snap-on denture attached to 2–4 implants. The difference is more academic than clinical for most patients. What matters more is the number of implants and type of attachment used.
